A Designer Explains Hair Loss and What I'm Doing Right Now

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday

I'm trying to get my hair to grow out. Simply because I want to get a new hair cut and getting new growth will mean I won't have to sacrifice any length. I'm not sure about going too short but I am tired of this blonde thing.

Here's my routine now:

I'm using Nexxus encapsulate serum. After I wash my hair, which is maybe once a week sometimes twice a week, I use 5 pumps and press it into my ends. I also use it on my dry hair too, when it starts looking like straw. I do have to use product sparingly, I do have a tendency to over use product and then my hair gets heavy.

I'm giving schwartz bio research fast acting growth and shine hair formula with biotin supplement a try. I used other supplements by them in the past and I like them because they use a vegetable filler so my stomach doesn't get messed up. I think the body absorbs it better too because over time other synthetic fillers block the absorption.

I'm applying shea moisture superfruit complex 10 in 1 renewal system hair and scalp serum in like 5 spots on my scalp, then I give myself a nice massage after I wash my hair too. Again, I'm using this sparingly, since too much gets too oily.

I've been brushing it out with a natural bristle brush, and I usually start from the bottom and go to the top to get tangles out. But I go gently roll my wrist to get at the freshly applied product from the root and spread it evenly as I can. My scalp seems to be damaged from over processing my hair, and getting bleach and dye on my hair line did me no favors.

I'm reverse washing when I do wash my hair. Conditioner first, just on the ends and then shampoo after. I get a better lather faster and it doesn't seem so weighed down. I'm using ogx fight fallout niacin and caffeine shampoo and conditioner.

I did take some 'before' pics, but you'll just have to wait and see what happens with me. Once I hit the two week mark I'll be posting a review, so that'll be in the next week or so.

I have had hair loss in the past but this time it's not as severe as it once was. It's most likely related to my thyroid disease, but I won't be seeing a specialist until July so I'm just trying things out and seeing what's working for me. I am losing strands from the root, but I've noticed not as much over the past week.
