Matcha Green Tea Powder Review and Demo

Trying to introduce a new thing into my routine. I love green tea but by the time I finish my coffee the morning is over and I don't like to have caffeinated teas in the afternoon, so this was a good option for me.

Make sure the water is brought up to a roling boil! So the powder dissolves fully. Today I added a bit of orange rind and a packet of stevia. Very yummy! I like the idea of fruit teas, but they always hurt my teeth, so this was a nice way to get that orange taste without all the acid that comes with it.

Ideas for Matcha Green Tea Powder I love Udi’s blueberry muffins, but they have quite a bit of sugar in them. So I had the idea to use matcha in my baking. I was tinkering around and came up with the most moist and delish banana bread muffins!

Ingredients: 4 packets of stevia

2 packets of dried banana chips, broken in pieces

4 tablespoons of white corn flour

2 teaspoons of baking powder

1 tablespoon of melted coconut powder

1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder

2 eggs, or egg substitute

the zest of one orange

the juice of one orange

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of vanilla syrup, or ¼ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

Ice cream scoop

Four silicon muffin liners or a microwave safe plastic or pyrex glass 4 count muffin tin

Makes 4 muffins

Directions:

Melt coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl for 20-40 seconds

Combine all ingredients in the bowl except banana chips

Whisk all together until a stiff batter forms

Crush banana chips while still in their packaging, then open the bag

Fold in banana chips until evenly distributed

Scoop the batter into the muffin cups using the ice cream scoop

Use a silicon spatula to get the last of the batter if needed

Bake in the microwave for 3 minutes or until firm

Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from muffin liner or microwave safe glass bakeware

use a fork or offset spatula to gently lift muffins out of the bakeware

Set on a plate and pull apart to reveal soft tender middle

Serve with strawberry jam or butter or vegetable butter substitute spread

Tip:

Instead of banana, try a tablespoon of 100% unsweetened cocoa powder and add red food coloring for a sweet gluten-free red velvet cake muffin.

Thanks for watching! I'll see you next week.
