I’ve mastered the art of packing light in a carry on, which has its benefits. I’m going to go through some simple steps that will make it easy to prioritize what can work for your needs. It depends on where you’re going but mostly I’m going to focus on warm weather and workout planning.
First of all the benefits of only having a carry on is that your airline may offer to check it for free. This frees up your hands during connecting flights and saves time. Just be sure that you have daily meds, Electronic devices and their chargers or anything else that’s a daily need in a personal item like a backpack or a tote bag. You may get a text from the airline or an announcement might be made at the gate. Just be ready either way.
So actual packing, I over pack underwear and bras so I don’t have to worry. I make sure I have at least two spare pairs just in case. That’s the only thing I’ll over pack. Everything else is planned down to the wire. I brought sport bras that could double as my bikini tops at the beach, and I brought two bikini bottoms because I planned two beach days. I brought eight other lighter weight sport bras, two regular bras, two tees, two long sleeve tees, two tanks, the leggings I wore on the plane, a pair of jeans, two pairs of yoga shorts, a black dress and a short sleeve pull on jumpsuit. That got me through ten days of workouts and easy, casual dressing.
It was simple not to lose anything and easy to keep track of everything. As far as skincare and accessories I kept it minimal so I wouldn’t misplace anything. I brought my sample size Tatcha gift set to take care of my face. I had Dr. Bronner’s Soap to use as my body wash. I did attempt to wash my hair with a dove 2 in 1 and it wasn’t too bad. I followed up with Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave In Conditioner spray. I didn’t do any makeup, I just had my Burt's Bee Baby 80 SPF Stick Sunscreen.
That’s my short and sweet ten day packing plan. Hope you garnered some tips and tricks to use on your next trip!
