🌞 Low Impact Litha Rituals & Pride Magic: A Soft Solstice Celebration

As the sun lingers in the sky a little longer, I feel its warmth in my bones. Even when I am tired. Even when my energy is stretched thin. This year's Litha, the Summer Solstice, is extra special. I am honored to have my fairy sculpture featured in the Mosaic LGBTQIA+ Gallery Exhibition at the Patchogue Arts Council on June 21st for their Pride n’ Shine event, curated by the luminous Anu Annam of Sea of Visibility.

This piece, my Whimsical Fairy House, is made of pinecones, moss, acorns, and a whole lot of imagination. It is a little refuge. A safe haven. A storybook shelter that holds queer joy, neurodivergent wonder, and the handmade magic of being seen.

And while I am thrilled, I am also tired. The kind of tired that makes a full ritual bonfire feel out of reach. So this Litha, I am leaning into gentle ways to honor the light. Soft rituals for the heart and soul that do not ask for more than I can give.

🌻 Gentle Ways to Celebrate the Solstice

Whether you are showing your art, surviving the week, or simply existing with grace, here are some low energy Litha ideas I am using to mark the season.

🔮 Crystal Charging

Let the sunlight pour through a window and bathe your crystals in warmth. I am placing sunstone, citrine, and clear quartz next to my other fairy houses so they can soak up solar energy for creative renewal.

🌞 Mini Sun Salutation

I am doing a quiet stretch by the window in the morning. Palms up. Heart open. Just a few deep breaths to say yes, I am here. I made it to the light.

✨ Journal or Oracle Pull

A simple tarot card or a quick note in my journal. What am I celebrating? For me, it is showing this piece publicly. For Pride. For queer art. For healing. That is enough magic.

💧 Sun Water

A small jar of water on the windowsill becomes a spell in itself. Charged with solstice light, I will use it later to anoint my altar or just hold it when I need to remember I carry sunshine too.

🌈 Pride, Shine, and Showing Up As You Are

My art, like my magic, is rooted in everyday enchantment. Pride is not always loud. Sometimes it lives in the quiet confidence of placing a fairy house in a gallery and letting it speak for you. Sometimes it is knowing that your energy, however small, is still sacred.

So if you are feeling low but still want to honor the season, I see you. Light a candle. Drink something cold in the sun. Be kind to yourself. That is solstice magic too.

Happy Litha and Happy Pride
