🌈 Rainbow Bagels & Birthday Cake Cream Cheese for Pride Month

Pride is about visibility, creativity, and joy—and what better way to celebrate than with rainbow bagels and a glittering funfetti cream cheese spread? As someone with over 15 years in design and two decades in kitchens, this recipe is where food and art collide in the most colorful way.

Whether you're headed to a brunch picnic, hosting a queer art salon, or just want to make your morning a little more fabulous, these homemade bagels are the perfect way to share your pride—literally and metaphorically.

🌈 Homemade Rainbow Bagels 

Make one batch per color of the rainbow for the full effect.

(Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds.)

Ingredients (per color):

1 3/8 cups water (warmed to 112°F) 1 Tbsp active dry yeast 2 Tbsp brown sugar 1 tsp salt 3 1/2 cups bread flour 4 drops gel food dye (your choice of vibrant color) 

Instructions:

Mix water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let it bloom for 5–10 minutes. Add salt and dye, then gradually mix in flour to form dough. Knead for 10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Repeat for each color. Then stack, roll, and twist together for the rainbow effect. Cut into portions, shape into bagels, and boil for 1 minute per side. Bake at 425°F for 20–25 minutes. Cool and prepare for ultimate cream cheese magic... 🎉 Birthday Cake Funfetti Cream Cheese Spread 

Ingredients:

8 oz cream cheese (softened) 3/4 cup white cake mix 1/3 cup powdered sugar 2 Tbsp milk 1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles 

Instructions:

Blend cream cheese, cake mix, sugar, and milk until fluffy. Fold in sprinkles and refrigerate until ready to serve. Slather onto cooled bagels and enjoy every joyful bite. 💬 From My Kitchen to Yours
