While I have a ton of required reading for a new client, I have some blog things running on the queue for everyone. Enjoy!
What's your weekend routine? For me, there isn't really a day off, but I do have a few things that are necessary once I have some free time. It's winter here, and I got some nice shots this morning. The snow was very wet, coming down fast in big flakes. I did have a few errands to do, but thankfully it was right around the corner.
Sleeping in for me is about 7 am. I just get my coffee* and face ready downstairs and then back in bed I go. I love winter because it gives me an excuse to sleep in cozy sweaters and textured leggings. To be clear, it's stylish too! And it doesn't hurt that it's a ready outfit, you could throw on boots and your winter coat and scarf to stop in a shop in the morning, then back in bed you go... or not.
More often I find myself waking up very early, at around 5 am. I start my day with my youtube subscriptions. I guess it's like checking in on CNN for other people. But some of my faves are Phillip DeFranco and Sourcefed. I think I've been watching for six years. It is really hard to keep up with everything! I absolutely am guilty of following too many people. But here are some highlights that are non-star wars related to give you giggles and feels.
I teared up during the Fuller House teaser trailer. The Home Alone spoof was amazing by far. And I just hope Twin Peaks stays weird. So many questions! But that's another post all by itself.
Welp, here are the last of the flowers! Covered in this thick wet snow.

So much YUM! Right here is/ was dinner for me last night. I usually eat a big lunch and I've been getting to bed earlier: So I don't want a heavy dinner. This was broccoli and cranberries and raw ginger smoothie made with the broccoli stumps, leftover fresh cranberries, some fresh ginger root I got at the market, cranberry/ cherry juice, 2 small granny smith apples, a banana, the last of the frozen strawberries, with stevia to taste. It really comes out thick like a milkshake without any dairy. It depends on your taste, but here are some approximate measurements if you'd like to try this at home!
You'll need:
Blender 4-6 oz strawberries fresh or frozen, about five strawberries 1 ripe banana, about 8 oz Brocalli greens could be leaves and trunks, about 6 oz or three large stumps. (I end up saving them in the freezer after I use the florets. I store this in the freezer for later use in soups or in this case, smoothies) 8 oz or less of fresh cranberries A finger of ginger or a 1-inch piece more or less depending on your taste 2 small granny smith apples cored. Leave the skin on. Cube or slice, just so the blender isn't working too hard 1-2 cups of a 100% juice to your taste. (I like using cranberry/ cherry juice blends, but I also have a weird taste for grape juice too.)
Add as much or as little juice as you like, it matters how thick you want it. If you'd like a slushie texture, add ice cubes and pulse.
Makes a little over 32 oz. This probably will fulfill your required fruit and veggie intake for the day, it's about 8 servings of fruit and/ or veggies. I have one of these at between 5 and 7 pm. Then I don't feel like eating a lot of junk before bed.
New client work is always interesting. New guidelines, and apparently, according to some test, my work is very 'readable'. Um, ok thank you?
We're finally getting some real snow today! PS everyone this house is for sale across the street from me and it's lovely if anyone cool wants to be my neighbor that would be sweet.
Ah... perfect coffee in the morning. Espresso, steamed milk, sometimes vanilla, and stevia. But I like to keep it simple most mornings.
Trying out Birchbox again. Some things I'd buy, but honestly a lot of things I don't really look for. I do love the boxes, though! The make for cute on the vanity storage.
Here's a cute and comfy outfit idea: An oversized tee with a cowl neck/ slouchy turtle neck type shirt underneath. I got the wing tee on wish.com and I ordered the largest size, thinking that it would be tiny since it's overseas sizing. It's like my favorite night shirt now, but it's so pretty I like to wear it out sometimes!
So I put a shirt underneath that's a bit nicer. I have a really nice cotton/ bamboo blend black long sleeve tee that has this funny draping turtle neck type neckline. I wore that out with some fleece lined leggings I bought at a drug store and some obnoxious fur boots from Just Fab.
Or you can just mix patterns like I did with this geometric patterned blanket sweater and traditional flannel plaid here.
*First thing first, I make espresso and steam my face for about 5 minutes or less. I steam some milk and make my cup. That's really the only cup of coffee I have. After that I switch to tea, then decaf tea in the afternoon.
